Miracle Principle 25
Principle 25: Miracles are part of an interlocking chain of forgiveness which, when completed, is the Atonement. Atonement works all the time and in all the dimensions of time. (T-1.I.26)
Miracles represent freedom from fear. “Atoning” means “undoing.” The undoing of fear is an essential part of the Atonement value of miracles. (T-1.I.26.1-3)
A miracle is a correction introduced into false thinking by Jesus. It acts as a catalyst, breaking up erroneous perception and reorganizing it properly. This places you under the Atonement principle, where perception is healed. Until this has occurred, knowledge of the Divine Order is impossible. (T-1.I.37.1-4)
Miracles are selective only in the sense that they are directed towards those who can use them for themselves. Since this makes it inevitable that they will extend them to others, a strong chain of Atonement is welded. However, this selectivity takes no account of the magnitude of the miracle itself, because the concept of size exists on a plane that is itself unreal. Since the miracle aims at restoring the awareness of reality, it would not be useful if it were bound by laws that govern the error it aims to correct. (T-1.III.9:1-4) To be sure, ask Jesus who is miracle-ready. He will direct you.
Guilt remains the only thing that hides the Father, for guilt is the attack upon His son. The guilty always condemn, and having done so they will continue to condemn, linking the future to the past per the ego’s law. Fidelity to this law lets no light in, for it demands fidelity to darkness and forbids awakening (such as with the false adage “once a thief, always a thief.”) The ego’s laws are strict, and breaches are severely punished. Therefore, give no obedience to its laws. Those who follow them believe they are guilty, and that they must condemn. Condemnation breeds more condemnation. Between the future and the past, therefore, the laws of God must intervene if you would free yourself. Atonement (undoing) stands between them, like a lamp shining so brightly that the chain of darkness in which you bound yourself will disappear. (T-13.IX.1:1-8)
Release from guilt is the ego’s whole undoing. Make no one fearful, for his guilt is also yours and by obeying the ego’s harsh commandments you bring its condemnation on yourself, and you will not escape the punishment faith in the ego brings. The ego rewards fidelity to it with pain, for faith in the ego is pain. Faith can be rewarded only in terms of the belief in which the faith was placed. Where it is invested determines its reward. For faith is always given to what is treasured and to give is to receive. (T-13.IX.2:1-6) So ask the Holy Spirit where to place your faith.
The world can give you only what you gave it, for being nothing but your own projection, it has no meaning apart from what you found in it and placed your faith in. If you are faithful unto darkness, you will not see, because your faith will be rewarded as you gave it. You will accept your treasure, and if you place your faith in the past, the future will be like it. Whatever you hold dear, you think is yours, and it will appear to be yours as long as you value it. (T-13.IX.3:1-5)
Atonement brings a re-evaluation of everything you value and cherish, for it is the means by which the Holy Spirit can separate the false and the true, both of which you have accepted into your mind without distinction. Therefore, you cannot value one without the other, and guilt has become as true for you as innocence. You do not believe the Son of God is guiltless because you see the past; you do not see him. When you condemn a brother you are thus saying, “I who was guilty choose to remain so.” You have denied his freedom, and by so doing you have denied your own. You could as easily have freed him from the past and lifted from his mind the cloud of guilt that binds him to it. And in his freedom would have been your own. (T-13.IX.4:1-7)
The present offers you your brothers in the light that would unite you with them and would free you simultaneously from the past. Would you, then, hold the past against them? For if you do, you are choosing to remain in the darkness that is not there and refusing to accept the light that is being offered to you. For the light of perfect vision is freely given as it is freely received and can be accepted only without limit. In this one moment, this one still dimension of time in the present that does not change, and where there is no sight of what you were, you look at Christ and call His witnesses to shine on you because you called them forth. And they will not deny the truth in you, because you looked for it in them and found it there. (T-13.VI.7:1-6) Do not pass this by. Though this opportunity is presented again and again, accept it now, in this present moment. Call forth Christ's witnesses to shine on you. Do it NOW!
See no one, then, as guilty, and you will affirm the truth of guiltlessness unto yourself. In every condemnation that you offer the Son of God lies the conviction of your own guilt. If you would have the Holy Spirit free you of it, accept His offer of Atonement for ALL your brothers. For so you learn that it is true for you. (T-13.IX.6:1-6)
Can you see guilt where God knows there is perfect innocence? You can deny His knowledge, but you cannot change it. Look, then, upon the light He placed within you, and you will learn that what you feared was there has been replaced with love. (T-13.IX.8:11-13)
Through miracles you accept God’s forgiveness by extending it to others. (T-1.21:1-2) Do this: Behold the Son of God and look upon his purity and be still. In quiet look upon his holiness and offer thanks unto his Father that no guilt has ever touched him. (T-13.X.11:10-11) And you will then know that no guilt has ever touched you.
Like you, the faith and the belief of Jesus are centered on what he treasures. The difference is that he loves only what God loves with him, and because of this he treasures you beyond the value that you set on yourself, even unto the worth that God has placed upon you. (T-13.X.13:1-2)

Fear binds the world. Forgiveness sets it free. The ego makes illusions. Truth undoes its evil dreams by shining them away. Truth never makes attack. It merely is. And by the presence of truth, the mind is recalled from fantasies, awaking to only what is real. Forgiveness bids this presence enter in and take its rightful place within the mind. Without forgiveness the mind is in chains, believing in its own futility. Yet with forgiveness the light shines through the dream of darkness, offering it hope, and giving it the means to realize the freedom that is its inheritance. (W-332.h.1:1-8)
Forgiveness ends the dream of conflict here. Conflict must be resolved. It cannot be evaded, set aside, denied, disguised, seen somewhere else, called by another name, or hidden by deceit of any kind, if it would be escaped. It must be seen exactly as it is, where it is thought to be, in the reality which has been given it, and with the purpose that the mind accorded it. For only then are its defenses lifted, and the truth can shine upon it as it disappears. (W-333.1:1-4)
Father, forgiveness is the light You chose to shine away all conflict and all doubt and all fear and light the way for our return to You. Only this light can end the dark dream. Only this light can save the world. For this light alone will always prevail in everything, being Your gift to Your beloved Son. GOD IS.
