Miracle Principle 19

Principle 19: Miracles make minds one in God. They depend on cooperation because the Sonship is the sum of all that God created. Miracles therefore reflect the laws of eternity, not of time. (T-1.I.19)

COURSE REFERENCES

Miracles are the way in which minds that serve the Holy Spirit unite with Jesus for the salvation or release of God’s creations. (T-1.III.3:4) In effect, then, Jesus will guide you to a brother who is ready for a miracle to help release him from error and fear, so he may return to love.

Just as the separation occurred over millions of years, the Last Judgment will extend over a similarly long period, and perhaps an even longer one. Its length can, however, be greatly shortened by miracles, which shorten time but do not abolish it. If a sufficient number become truly miracle-minded, this shortening process can be virtually immeasurable. It is essential, however, that you free yourself from fear quickly, because you must emerge from the conflict if you are to bring peace to other minds which are also looking for a way out. (T-2.VIII.2:5-8) If you are still fearful, you will teach fear; if you are at peace, you will teach peace. Or you may consider the idea to “teach only love for that is what you are.” (T-6.I.13:2)

Communion, not prayer, is the natural state of those who know that God and His miracle are inseparable. And you are a miracle! How beautiful indeed are the Thoughts of God who live in His Light! Your worth is beyond perception because it is beyond doubt. “Know yourself in the One Light where the miracle that is you is perfectly clear.” (T-3.V.10:9)

"Come therefore unto me (Jesus) and learn of the truth in you. The mind we share is shared by all our brothers, and as we see them truly, they will be healed. Let your mind shine with mine upon their minds, and by our gratitude to them make them aware of the light in them. This light will shine back upon you and on the whole Sonship, because this is your proper gift to God. He will accept it and give it to the Sonship, because it is acceptable to Him and therefore to His Sons. This is true communion with the Holy Spirit Who sees the altar of God in everyone, and by bringing it to your appreciation, He calls upon you to love God and His creation. You can appreciate the Sonship only as one. This is part of the law of creation, and therefore governs all thought." (T-7.V.II.1-8)

Healing is a thought by which two minds perceive their oneness and become glad. The higher mind thinks according to the laws spirit obeys, and thus honors only the laws of God.

The difference between the ego’s projection (protrusion of darkness) and the Holy Spirit’s extension (extenuation of light) is very simple. The ego projects to exclude and to deceive. The Holy Spirit extends by recognizing Himself in every mind, perceiving them as one. Nothing conflicts in this perception, because what the Holy Spirit perceives is all the same. Wherever He looks He sees Himself, and because He is united, He offers the whole Kingdom always. The peace of God lies in this one message, and so the peace of God lies in you. The great peace of the Kingdom shines in your mind forever, but it must shine outward for you to be aware of it. (T-6.II.12:1-8)

You could live forever in the holy instant, beginning now and reaching to eternity, but for a very simple reason. Do not obscure the simplicity of this reason, for if you do, it will be only because you prefer not to recognize it and not to let it go. The simple reason, simply stated, is this: The holy instant is a time in which you receive and give perfect communication. This means, however, that it is a time in which your mind is open, both to receive and to give. It is the recognition that all minds are in communication. It therefore seeks to change nothing, but merely to accept everything. (T-15.IV.6:3-8)

How can you do this when you would prefer to have private thoughts and keep them? The only way you could do that would be to deny the perfect communication that makes the holy instant what it is. You believe you can harbor thoughts you would not share, and that salvation lies in keeping thoughts to yourself alone. For in private thoughts, known only to yourself, you think you find a way to keep what you would have alone, and share what you would share. And then you wonder why it is that you are not in full communication with those around you, and with God Who surrounds all of you together. (T-15.IV.7:1-5)

The Holy Spirit was given you with perfect impartiality, and only by recognizing Him impartially can you recognize Him at all. The ego is legion, but the Holy Spirit is one. No darkness abides anywhere in the Kingdom, but your part is only to allow no darkness to enter into your own mind. This alignment of mind with light is unlimited, because it is in alignment with the light of the world. Each of us is the light of the world, and by joining our minds in this light we proclaim the Kingdom of God together and as one. (T-6.II.13:1-5) Brothers all are we!

The Bible enjoins you to be perfect, to heal all errors, to take no thought of the body as separate and to accomplish all things in Jesus’ name. That is not his name alone, for ours is a shared identification. The Name of God’s Son is one, and you are enjoined to do the works of love because you and he share this oneness. Your minds are whole because they are one. If you are sick you are withdrawing from Jesus. Yet you cannot withdraw from Jesus alone. You can only withdraw from yourself and him. (T-8.IX.7:1-7)

Alone you can do nothing, but together with Jesus your minds fuse into something whose power is far beyond the power of its separate parts. By not being separate, the Mind of God is established in your mind and in Jesus’ mind and as yours and his. This Mind is invincible because it is undivided. (T-8.V.1:6-8)

Two minds with one intent become so strong that what they will becomes the Will of God. For Minds can only join in truth. In dreams, no two can share the same intent. (W-185.3:1-3)

You have done miracles, yet it is apparent that you have not done them alone. You have succeeded whenever you have reached another mind and joined with it. When two minds join as one and share one idea equally, the first link in the awareness of the Sonship has been made. (T-16.II.4:1-3)

Minds are joined; bodies are not. (T-18.VI.3:1)

For minds do not need the body to communicate. (T-20.V.5:3)

Like you, your brother thinks he is a dream. Do not share in this illusion of himself, for your identity depends on his reality. If he is not the Son of God, then neither are you! Think, rather, of him as a mind in which illusions still appear to persist, but as a mind which is still your brother. He is not made by what he dreams, nor is his body -- the “hero” of the dream -- your brother. It is his reality that is your brother, as is yours to him. Your mind and his are joined in brotherhood. His body and his dreams but seem to make a little gap where yours seem to have joined with his. The minds of the children of God seem to be trapped in their brain, and its powers to decline if their bodies are hurt. They seem to love, yet they desert and are deserted. They appear to lose what they love. And their bodies seem to wither and die. Only in an illusion could any of this appear to be. IF this were the real world, God would be cruel. (T-28.IV.3:1-10) Yet He is only loving, and He is everywhere and for all.

Remember it does not matter where in the Sonship He is accepted. He is always accepted for ALL. When your mind receives Him, the remembrance of Him awakens throughout the Sonship. So, heal your brothers simply by accepting God for them. (T-10.III.2.2-4)

I am one Self, united with my Creator, at one with every aspect of creation,

and limitless in power and in peace. (W-95.II:2,all)

I walk with God in perfect holiness. I light the world, I light my mind

and all the minds which God created one with me. (W-156.8:5-6)

The injunction “Be of one mind” is the statement for revelation-readiness. My (Jesus') request “Do this in remembrance of me” is the appeal for cooperation from miracle workers. The two statements are not in the same order of reality. Only the latter involves an awareness of time, since to remember is to recall the past in the present. Time is under Jesus’ direction, but timelessness belongs to God. In time we exist for and with each other. In timelessness we coexist with God. (T-2.V.A.17:1-6)

If you hold your hands over your eyes, you will not see because you are interfering with the laws of seeing. If you deny love, you will not know it because your cooperation is the law of its being. Whenever you question whether or not you are loved, or question your value, say:

God Himself is incomplete without me. (T-9.VII.8:1)

It should especially be noted that God has only one Son. If all His creations are His Sons, everyone must be an integral part of the whole Sonship. The Sonship in its oneness transcends the sum of its parts. However, this is obscured as long as any of its parts is missing. That is why the conflict cannot ultimately be resolved until all the parts of the Sonship have returned. Only then can the meaning of wholeness in the true sense be understood. Any part of the Sonship can believe in error or incompleteness if he so chooses. However, if he does so, he is believing in the existence of nothingness. The correction of this error is the Atonement. (T-2.VII.6:1-9)

"Creation is the sum of all God’s Thoughts in number infinite, and everywhere without all limit." (W-pII.11.1:1 What is Creation?)

The miracle is a learning device that lessens the need for time. It establishes an out-of-pattern time interval not under the usual laws of time. In this sense it is timeless. (T-1.I.47:1-3)

The basic decision of the miracle-minded is not to wait on time any longer than is necessary. Time can waste as well as be wasted. The miracle worker, therefore, accepts the time-control factor gladly. He recognizes that every collapse of time brings everyone closer to the ultimate release from time, in which the Son and the Father are one. Equality does not imply equality in the illusion, only in reality. (T-1.V.2:1-5)

For a miracle is now. It stands already here, in present grace, within the only interval of time that sin and fear have overlooked, but which is all there is to time. (T-26.VIII.5:8-9) So God’s grace is everywhere without end; it is just obscured by fear.

Time appears in your mind, and eternity is in your mind, and they will appear to conflict until you perceive time solely as a means to regain eternity. (T-10.in.1:2) Eternity is one time, its only dimension being “always.” (T-9.VI.7:1)

God’s teachers appear to be many, for that appears to be the world’s need. Yet being joined in one purpose, and one they share with God, how could they be separate from each other? What does it matter, then, if they appear in many forms? Their minds are one; their joining is complete. And God works through them now as one. For that is what they are. (M-12.2:5-9) God's teachers are one, as GOD IS.
