Lesson 50: I am sustained by the Love of God.

In this world, you believe you are sustained by everything but God. Your faith is placed in the most trivial and insane symbols; pills, vitamins, supplements, money, eyeglasses, “protective” clothing, paychecks, good credit scores, influence, prestige, being liked, knowing the “right” people, technological toys, and an endless list of forms of nothingness which you endow with magical powers. All of these things are cherished as replacements for the Love of God and they ensure a body identification. These are what the ego wants you to see, yet they are all worthless. Why? Because they will not sustain you, that is why.

The purpose of this lesson is to internalize the idea that you are sustained by God’s Love -- not by the things of this world. The idea is to embrace the protection, peace and safety His Love brings. The Love of God will raise you high above all the perceived dangers of this world and transport you into a state of mind that nothing can threaten, nothing can disturb, and where nothing can intrude upon the eternal calm of the Son of God. The Love of God is eternal, changeless and forever unfailing. This is the answer to whatever confronts you today and every day. Through the Love of God within you, you can resolve all seeming difficulties without effort and in sure confidence. Acknowledge this truth; allow it to sink deep into your consciousness. Repeat it, think about it, let related thoughts come to help you recognize its truth and allow peace to flow over you like a blanket of protection and surety. Let no idle and foolish thoughts enter to disturb the holy mind of the Son of God. Be diligent in this.

Lesson 51: Review of Lessons 1-5.

In the first five lessons you are asked to recognize the lack of validity in what you see, in your thoughts and your thought system, your judgments, your understanding. All that you see and think and understand are but nothing. They are projections from a disordered ego mind that is lost, unsure and afraid, because you are trying to see and think without God. There is no sense in trying to understand what you see because it is not understandable; it would simply be time wasted. What you call “your” thoughts are not your real thoughts. Your real thoughts are the thoughts you think with God. You are not aware of them because you have made your thoughts to take their place. You have made all things your enemies to justify your anger and so your attacks are warranted. This is a misuse of all that you see. You made everything to take the place of your thoughts with God in order to justify your existence on earth, to alleviate your anger, to be right, to be special – and to blend in or to stand out. After all, if you are in charge, God is not, and now you can be the Supreme Being.

All this foolishness is based on faulty projections gleaned from a false perception of an unreal past; this is not based on reality or on what Is. Now it is time to recognize that making things up is not as satisfying as you thought it would be. Now is the time for remembering the truth and utilizing it to reenter the Heaven you never left, time to get back right with God. You now know that you will not be able to defend, justify or rationalize things that are simply not true. The effort is extremely exhausting and the results are miserably disappointing. Let it all go, holy Son of God. Open your mind for a clearer way of seeing things. Open your mind for vision, the Holy Spirit’s gift.

Lesson 52: Review of Lessons 6-10.

Reality is never frightening. When you feel frightened it is because you see something that is only imagined or anticipated, based on fears learned from past experiences. Nothing in God’s creation is affected in any way by this confusion of reality and illusion. Truthfully, you see nothing as it is now. The choice, then, is not whether to see the past or the present; the choice is merely whether to see or not.

Your mind is part of Creation and part of its Creator. When you are ready to see, you will align your mind and thoughts with His. When you have forgiven yourself and remembered who you are, you will bless everyone and everything you see. Your mind will no longer be filled with meaningless “private” thoughts. Your mind will be filled with love -- only love.

Lesson 53: Review of Lessons 11-15.

The thoughts of which you are aware do not mean anything. These meaningless thoughts will show you a meaningless and insane and illusory world. Insane thoughts are not only upsetting, they produce a disordered world of chaos and unbelievably shocking insanity. A sane person cannot live in peace in such a world. It is too undependable and holds out no safety and no hope, no firm foundation upon which you can rely. Withdraw your belief from such a world and place your trust in reality instead and thus escape the world of fear and insanity. Let your real thoughts show you the real world. Remember, God did not create an insane world, therefore it does not exist, and therefore you cannot suffer from it. Just remember where you really abide – with Him. Whatever you see reflects your thoughts, and they will tell you where you are and what you are. The true thoughts you share with God will prevail if you choose them. God’s way is pure and sure.

Lesson 54: Review of Lessons 16-20.

You cannot have a neutral thought nor can you see a neutral world. All thoughts have power, and whether or not you are aware of it, you are always thinking. What you see is witness to what you think. If you did not think, you would not exist, because life is thought. (W-54.2:3) But thoughts cannot be without effects. The world you see arises from your thinking errors, yet so will the real world rise before your eyes as you let your errors be corrected. Do not shrink from correction. Without correction there would still be error. Correction is not criticism; it is a miraculous blessing!

You are not alone in experiencing the effects of your seeing. Even the idea of separation had to be shared, even though it was a sharing of nothing. Look on the world you see as a representation of your state of mind. Your state of mind can change, is that not so? Therefore the world you see can change as well, and quite quickly, too. Since your state of mind can change in the blink of an eye, so can what your eye sees. As your thoughts of separation call to the thoughts of separation in others, so also do your real thoughts awaken the real thoughts in them. And the world your real thoughts show you will dawn on their sight as well as on yours. You are alone in nothing. Everything you think or say or do has an effect on the entire universe. You are God’s Son. Nothing you do is in vain. And you can change the mind of the world, for yours is the power of God.

Would you therefore see what is real or what is false? Would you behold the proof that what has been done through you has enabled love to replace fear, laughter to replace tears, and abundance to replace loss? Be determined to see. Look upon the real world, and let it teach you that your will and the Will of God are one. What a blessing to be so enlightened that the world of illusion is no more!!

Lesson 55: Review of Lessons 21-25.

Much of what you see now are but signs of disease, disaster and death. This cannot be what God created for His beloved Son. The very fact that you see such things is proof that you do not understand the nature of God. And if you do not understand Him, how can you understand His Son? How can you understand your Self? You do not, therefore, know the truth of Who you are. Be determined to see the witnesses to truth in you, rather than those witnesses which show you an illusion of yourself, an impostor. Your loving thoughts will save you and bring peace. Turn to them.

Without attack thoughts, you will not see a world of attack. As forgiveness allows love to return to your awareness, you will see a world of peace and safety and joy, a firm foundation upon which to build your kingdom of happiness and love. Choose to see this, in place of what you see now.

In many situations which confront you – daily – you do not perceive your own best interests. And how can you if you do not know who you are? What you think are your best interests would merely bind you closer to the world of illusions. Be willing instead to follow the Guide God has given you to find out what your own best interests are, recognizing that you cannot perceive them by yourself. Notice how many times a day you do not know what to decide or what is best. Surely this is not the way you intend to continue to proceed – unknowing, unsure, uncertain and confused. This is surely not the way the Son of God chooses to live. There must be a better way. And there is: the way of the Holy Spirit. He can show you who you are, and how to live in truth, and how to BE the truth that you are. You may have forgotten, but He has not. He holds the truth for you and will release it to you as you are ready to accept it.

Do you even know what anything is for? To you, the purpose of everything is to prove that your illusions about yourself are real, that they verify your existence and your autonomy. To you, the world is for ego validation. You attempt, though perhaps unwittingly, to use everyone and everything to verify your worth and existence. This is what you see as the purpose of the world – and it is hiding from you its true purpose. Open your mind to learning the truth about the world and its purpose. Do not be afraid of the truth. The truth is never upsetting. The truth will set you free.

Lesson 56: Review of Lesson 26-30.

How can you know who you are when you see yourself as under constant attack? Pain, illness, loss, age and death seem to threaten you every day. All your hopes and wishes and plans appear to be at the mercy of a world you cannot control. Nothing goes according to plan; nothing works as it should. There is no justice you can count on. Even those things that appear to work only work temporarily, and then you find yourself back close to where you started. What gives? You are following the rules, but the rules are not always being followed by others and you cannot make it otherwise.

Perfect security and complete fulfillment are your inheritance, yet they are not seen in the insane world of illusions and attack. But God has kept your inheritance safe for you. Your own real thoughts will teach you what it is. Since what you see reflects what you think you are, then vision is your greatest need now. You have made a fearful image of yourself. It is essential that you remember who you are and let this fearful image go. Replace it with the truth of who you are, as God created you, His Son – and vision will surely be given you. Now you can look upon the world and on yourself with charity and love. Look past the world of insanity to the world that reflects the Love of God. God is in everything you see! Behind the image you have made, the truth remains unchanged. Behind every veil, the light of love remains undimmed. Beyond all your insane wishes is your will, united with the Will of your Father. God is still everywhere and in everything forever. You who are part of Him will yet look past all appearances, and recognize the truth beyond them all.

God is in everything you see because God is in your mind. Behind all your insane thoughts of separation and attack, guilt and blame, is the knowledge that all is one forever. This knowledge has always been in the Mind of God, and you have not left His Thoughts. You are still in His Thoughts, and still One with Who GOD IS. ❤
