Workbook Review Lessons 351-357

Theme of Relevance 18: What am I?

“I am God’s Son, complete and healed and whole, shining in the reflection of His Love. In me is His creation sanctified and guaranteed eternal life. In me is love perfected, fear impossible, and joy established without opposite. I am the holy home of God Himself. I am the Heaven where His Love resides. I am His holy Sinlessness Itself, for in my purity abides His Own.” (1:1-6)

Jesus says: “What I am are you as well.” The truth of you cannot be described in words. But you realize your function here, and words can speak of this and teach it, as you exemplify the words in YOU! It is not enough just to read them, or to speak them, or even to understand them. You must look upon your brothers and perceive all things as kindly and as good. You must give welcome only to the truth. Be assured that knowledge will return when you have done your part!

“Our use for words is almost over now. Yet in the final days of this one year we gave to God together, you and I, we found a single purpose that we shared.” (2:1) You, with Jesus, are the bringers of salvation. You, with Jesus, are the saviors of the world. You, with Jesus, are the holy messengers of God who speak for Him. As you carry His Word to everyone whom He has sent to you, you learn that His Word is written on your heart. Now the Son of God is redeemed!

Lesson 351: My sinless brother is my guide to peace. My sinful brother is my guide to pain. And which I choose to see I will behold.

Question: Are you willing to see your brother as sinless? If you have been experiencing pain, or discord, or uncertainty, then you apparently have not forgiven your brother and do not see him as sinless. These experiences are sure indications that you are still holding grievances against your brother, which when translated means that you still have unforgivenesses toward yourself. But be relieved by the understanding that it is only a choice you have been making, and you can choose another way to see your brother and yourself that will guide you to peace. Say this to yourself:

I must have decided wrongly, because I am not at peace.

I made the decision myself, but I can also decide otherwise.

I want to decide otherwise, because I want to be at peace.

I do not feel guilty, because the Holy Spirit will undo all the

consequences of my wrong decision if I will let him.

I choose to let Him, by allowing Him to decide for God for me.

(T-5.VII.6:7-11)

“Choose, then, for me, my Father, through Your Voice. For He alone gives judgment in Your Name.”

(1:6-7)

Lesson 352: Judgment and love are opposites. From one come all the sorrows of the world. But from the other comes the peace of God Himself.

Can you judge and forgive at the same time? Let us look at this. Forgiveness is looking past what the ego sees, to what the Holy Spirit shows you. As you look with Him, you see that there is nothing to judge. So if you are still judging, you are still looking with ego. So you are not forgiving, you are not looking past, you are looking at what the ego is showing you, and judging it.

Suppose you are judging truly, then are you forgiving? Well, I ask you this: Is there any need for judgment at all in Heaven, where all is perfect already? No? Then any time you judge anything or anyone in this world, you are stating that there are things you see to judge as “good” or “bad,” as “beneficial” or “detrimental.” Thus already you are not seeing truly. To see truly is to see nothing that needs judging! You see only truth, only light. So choose to love, not to judge -- and be at peace.

Lesson 353: My eyes, my tongue, my hands, my feet today have but one purpose; to be given Christ to use to bless the world with miracles.

Finally! A purpose for the body that will not bring trouble, which will not tire you, nor hurt you, nor bring you anguish. The body is not to be ignored, despised or neglected, attacked or belittled – but rather every part is to be used to bless the world with miracles, as guided by Jesus and Holy Spirit.

Father, I give all that is mine today to Christ, to use in any way that best will serve the purpose that I share with Him. . . A while I work with Him to serve His purpose. Then I lose myself in my Identity, recognizing that Christ is but my Self. (1:1,4-5)

Lesson 354: We stand together, Christ and I, in peace and certainty of purpose. And in Him is His Creator, as He is in me.

Who is Christ except God’s Son as He created Him? And what are you except the Christ in you? Therefore you and Christ not only stand together, you are together because you are one with each other. There is no place where you end and Christ begins, for you are one.

As you near the end of these workbook lessons, you may feel that somehow you must have missed the boat, because as yet you may not feel that you are the Christ and that Christ is you. But do not be disheartened. When you continue to practice what the Course has taught you, one day or in one instant, the recognition that you have no self except the Christ in you will awaken in your mind without any resistance or doubt. Your experience has not yet caught up with your understanding or your learning; that is all. Be patient, Son of God. “Whatever troubles you, be certain that He has the answer, and will gladly give it to you, if you simply turn to Him and ask it of Him.” (W-Epilog.1:5)

Lesson 355: There is no end to all the peace and joy, and all the miracles that I will give, when I accept God’s Word. Why not today?

Indeed, why not today? Do you remember what the “Word of God” is? "Atonement is the Word of God." (W-22.1:6) "I am as God created me." (W-pI.110.11:6) “My Son is pure and holy as Myself.” (W-pII.276.1:2) This is true about you and your brothers. This may appear to be difficult to understand in this moment; but when you simply ACCEPT this truth, and use it as the basis or premise for all your thoughts and words and actions, you will begin to see how perfect His Word and His Creation is!

Lesson 356: Sickness is but another name for sin. Healing is but another name for God. The miracle is thus a call to Him.

While sickness appears to be of the body, sickness is of the mind and has nothing to do with the body. (M-5.II.3:2.all) The mind thinks it has sinned and separated from God, which is the core of the perceived “problem.” There has been no separation! You are spirit in the state of God’s grace forever and CANNOT separate from Him. Sickness serves as a defense against this truth. Yet why choose to be defended against truth? Would you rather be one with truth? Then call forth miracles of truth! Your Father promised you He would never fail to answer any call His Son might make to Him. So call Him.

Lesson 357: Truth answers every call we make to God, responding first with miracles, and then returning unto us to be itself.

God’s holy Son, the Christ, is pointed out by the Holy Spirit, first in your brother, then in yourself. God’s Voice instructs you patiently to hear His Word, and give It as you have received It. As you look upon your brother, God’s Son, You hear God’s Voice instructing you to find the way to Him, as He appointed the way shall be: “Behold his sinlessness, and be you healed.” (2.5) Now you will see the light!
